Using Trumpeter as bait?

Just wonder if anyone has ever caught anything on a trumpeter? I have used it a few times as a last resort bait, after hearing from a guy who knows a guy who uses it *sighs* .

Guys in Adelaide use them for mulloway bait but over here I reckon they blow.  Never had anything take even a sniff at them dead or alive.

We put some small trumpeter in our spare work tank when we caught them trying to get mullet for livies.  Our mangrove jack didn't let them roam too long (about 15 seconds) so assuming he loves them, most others probably would too.

Yep I have caught Mulloway in the river on trumpeters, only use them when I cant catch anything else for live bait. They make good crab bait as well.
