Very happy with the way the outdoor bar is turning out - a few progress pics
Quite a few months back I decided to build an outdoor bar. I had visions of it being decked out in old fishing lures, nets, floats etc and having a bit of fishing character about it, but after building the brick shell just before Xmas last year it sat there with planks of wood as a bar top, for quite a while. Whilst we made the most of it at Xmas it was pretty piss weak in terms of function and aesthetics.
Earlier this year I finally got my cousin to do the top and the cupboards (he is a carpenter - I am not!) and the semi finished product looked way too "upper class" for me to ruin with old lures etc, it just wouldn't go.
So I came up with the idea to turn it into a fishing based bar, but a bit more stylish and clean cut. So I installed a LED TV hooked up to foxtel (EPL and Fishing shows on high rotation) and bolted a few fishing pics on the wall and on the bar surrounds.
Basically the cover for the first 7 Issues of the mag are around the bar and a few pics of me and my various regular deckies up on the wall.
The back wall is going to be changed to hide all the wires and downpipes etc and allow more pics up there etc. Everything is lockable and the tv comes inside rather than staying out. We may also put up a false ceiling so we can change all the lighting too. Right now it has led lighting under the black facia so it lights up nicely at night when its in party mode.
Once its fully finished I'll post a few more pics. But needless to say I am pretty pleased with it so far. Looking forward to summer with a few beers and bourbons and a few mates watching live sport and fishing shows on TV. C'mon You Spurs!

Looks good Andy, I'm planning something similar when we put a enclosed area off our alfresco area and back up to the back door of my garage. Got a heap of left over bricks and pavers, so hopefully it wont cost me an arm and a leg.

If you want to know the reason why I haven't been posting many pics of late its because I've spent every weekend working on the bar. Whether its staining, varnishing, painting, plumbing, tiling etc its taken priority recently.
Thanks to the father-in-law for teh major construction and my next door neighbour Greg and his son Rob for all the electrical work and Dino for the carpentry. Without them it wouldn't be anywhere near as good as it is.
Now to start enjoying it.
