I got a Certate 2508 rh and Samurai 6 ft 8, nice combo for 8lb braid and soft plastics and small stickbaits. Maybe a tad light for up north but perfect for metro where it has accounted for tuna on stickbait and dhu and pinkies on plastics.
Boston Whaler 235 Conquest......getting the flogging it was built for.

I'm using a shimano raider II
I'm using a shimano raider II inshore spin and a Stradic 5000FJ with 20lbs powerpro. Heavy enough for the big 'uns and still fun for the smaller fish. Would cost you about 400 dollars

I have got a Nitro Viper and Shimano Stradic FJ 5000 for casting small lures and SPs. Great combo that will cost you around your budget. Have only caught a few tuna and small YTK with it so far but felt like it could handle a lot more.

Daiwa Tournament Master S
Daiwa Tournament Master S Heavy and a Certate 3000 will be my combo in Broome this year. 30g cast weight and from what im told the rods handle solid Quobba Cobia.
last broome trip i had a Lemax black rose and Certate 3000 spooled with 20lb. 40g cast weight, it was harder using smaller plastics, however, I managed Tuna, Queenies, Trevally(goldens and brassys), jacks. It was a GT that couldnt be stopped by this
All the rod/reel combos mentioned above are awesome. Just head down to your local and have a play with rods up to the 20lb size.
