Warning Warning Warning Will Robinson
I have just read this bit of nasty news on the ABC fishing page today it appears to me that if labor win the election they are going to re introduce the plan for a large number of fish reserves around the entire Australian coast line. It will be remembered that the Abbot government put this plan on hold until an independent study had been completed and its findings considered.
This now does not seem to be the case with the Shorten opposition appearing to be feeding the greens with the idea of perhaps gaining their preferences. Well that's my view of it.
With both major political parties swarmy bulldust talking and promises it is IMO no wonder that people have had enough of all the rubbish and double dealing going on, the outcome of the double disillusion could see more independents elected into office as the public use their vote as a protest vote against both parties they see as not good enough to govern without a checking mechanism being in place.
Any way have a read and make up your own minds,
LABOR THREATENS LOCKOUTS WITH COMMONWEALTH MARINE RESERVES
From Fishing World e-News 9 June 2016
Labor has promised to reinstall plans for a Commonwealth Marine Park if it wins power in July’s election. In a statement released today, the opposition said a Shorten Labor Government will restore its original management plans in order to “protect our precious marine life”.
The Coalition Government under Tony Abbott stalled plans for the controversial Commonwealth Marine Park after taking office in 2013, pending a review. Labor said its network of marine parks will help protect Australia's diverse marine environment and the life it supports.
While Labor said the Marine Park management plans were designed to have minimal impact on industry and recreational fishing, the Shorten Labor Government has committed to a $100 million Fisheries Adjustment Package to “assist those fishers impacted by the Commonwealth Marine Reserves”.
While Labor has promised compensation for commercial fishers, there has been little mention of the potential damage to the rec fishing community.

As if the demersal ban isn't enough...
The worst thing that can happen is a hung parliament where Labor rely on the Greens to take power. We'll be fucked in the water so to speak
Officially off the Pies bandwagon

UK nhs
USA medical system is completley different to UK. USA is all privatised. Uk has a medical system like here. ie public health system in the NHS. I would say Australia is more like USA as far as private health is concerned, however I certainly wouldn't like to see us heading in the same direction as USA & to be completley private.
