Hello all .
Could any body out there have infomation on the warrenty on new boats if it is exstended for the period of times sent back to the purches place
so say if i had the boat for a period of 15 months and it been back to the boat shop 6 times which ads to the time of two months / 8 weeks does it become exstended warrenty as i havnt had the boat in my possesion.
My boat came with a 5 year warrenty brand new boat and motor and now i feel totally ripped off from the boat yard not sure where to turn but in the time of having it ive only put 110 hours on it .
Does anybody have info that could help me it would great help

have to read contract/warrenty
generally it starts from date of purchase which should be "stamped."
as far as I know if you have to send it to the shop they do not add this time onto the warrenty.
agree it sucks when you get ripped off..... whats the problem(s)
cheers

You can rest assured that
You can rest assured that shop time doesn't extend your warranty. Sellers do have an obligation to sell a product suyitable for the intended use, so you might get a bit more out of them through a claim with small claims or the courts.

The small claims tribunal is
The small claims tribunal is a pretty cheap way to inflict some heartache but once you let the legal genie out of the bottle you can't put it back.

Also make sure you
are covered for Legal Moorings. Friend went to Thevernard fuel pump went. A fantastic good samaritian towed friend back to Onslow. Overnight wind came up, good samaritian got up in the morning his Cat was sunk on the mooring. He wasn't covered by his insurance company, wasn't a legal mooring. I may have gotten this wrong but better to check than be sorry.

Insurance and "legal moorings"
Roberta ......I have been in the insurance game 40 years with a lot of that time exclusively in marine (cargo and hull) insurance and I have never seen ANY policy with an exclusion in regards to mooring.
If you know the owner get him to PM me and I will be pleased to see if there is anything I can do to assist, he has recourse via the Financial Ombudsman Service but that should only be used as a last resort.

Eyes
Saw that leisure cat being pulled out of the water at Beadon Creek. Wasn't a pretty picture. Had a camera in the car but didn't have the heart to take a pic. Poor buggar.

The cat I'm talking about was June 08
CPBA Sports fishing Group went to Thevenard,
sunshine ... it was told to me by Bob's friend, it was his son that got towed back with the good samaritian. tried to up load photo from our club web site, the cat has a yellow flash or marking down the left hand side of boat. Apparently it was a very bad night as far as the southerlies where blowing all night & got up next morning and cat had flipped on the mooring, thats all I know.
Everybody thats all I know .. just hope after his very good deed that he was covered or the insurance company relented.
