Warroora Help

Hey all, I’m looking at heading up to Warroora, after a bit of reading it looks like a pretty special spot for more than just fishing, I’ve read all the old posts regarding Warroora and I was still unclear on a few things and was hoping to have a better idea before we head up.

First I was wondering what’s the biggest boat that could be launched with a 4x4, I was thinking launching our 21ft boat would be a huge effort and would result in digging. But if I only took the tinny might be restricted to fishing the shallows especially if the weather doesn’t play ball.

Secondly where is the best spot for camping? I’ve had a good look at the map and it seems there are plenty of spots to camp so I suppose I’m asking more which is better for fishing, launching and ease of camping.

Lastly not being that familiar with the northern weather patterns what are ideal wind and swell conditions? We will likely be staying in Jurien at a mates house and would only make the trip if the weather is looking favorable.

Thanks Miles

When I went

I launched basically right in front of the caretakers van, using 2 connected snatch straps to lower and pull out the trailer up the steep shoreline. Sand was quite firm up there where I could get the extra length using the 2 straps. Would benefit to have a wheel setup on the front of the trailer if doing this. Hope you get better weather than we did, only got the boat wet once and even then had to stay inside the reef due to the conditions.
Also when we were there another camper who left his boat in the water overnight woke to find his brand new boat upside down, after seeing this I'd definitely retrieve the boat out of the water each night :)

Hi milsey, only just seen

Hi milsey, only just seen this and got no PM as per Matt's suggestion.

I'd say kane launched at '14 Mile' which wasn't possible for a lot of people this year due to weather conditions. A safer spot to launch any boat up to 7.5 metres (And we've done this) is 'Sandy Point' which is only just done the coast a little further. You still need the local knowledge how to get through the reef,... it looks ok but there are some hidden bommies. The caretaker will tell you where they are.

We took big boats & small boats down to the 'Lagoon' this year and pretty much will say, 'If you can figure it out mate, the fishing is good!' Rather than tell the whole site the secrets of this place, if you are genuininely keen to fish this area...? please PM me.

Heard someone left there boat

Heard someone left there boat in the water overnight in that area  2 nights ago,     anchored in the sand,      it was gone yesterday morning.      Had to get a plane from Coral Bay to search for it,  found it upside down,      took five hours to tow back to camp.      Once they got it upright,       outboard started up straight away,        but lost all their sefety gear!
