We got 16 between 7-10:15. Went to pull the string in thinking we would get one or two more, but no joy. Brad got to the ramp before us and was heading out as I was the trailer in. Same bait, very close spots and they bagged out about an hour before we pulled stumps. Pity, I was supposed to get the old man at 5:30 thinking on a weekend it would be good to go early, but im a tool and set my alarm for 5:45 instead of 4:45. Maybe then I would have got the jump on them:D
Big ones were 15-16cm. We chucked back a few just sized/undersized ones because when you got a big one, they were huge. Should be good in a couple of weeks too.
Ah wow thats pretty deep, no wonder dont see them walking around in the shallows much during the mornings, are you getting females in the pots too or mainly just big blueys?
Way undersize with a berry twice her size haha! I put her back with the utmost of care with my best wishes for next year. Last week it was all decent sized males, no undersize, no females. This week a few undersize males but mainly big fellas.
I reroped all my pots yesterday to 20 mts, still in that depth its not too long, one of them had a tangle and Brad found it floating away past his string. Thanks for bringing it back!
After seening all the boats out there today my "secret" spot aint that secret anymor.Love my feed of crabs and did well today as Bryan said. Pity I had to race off to work this arvo so didnt get to sample any yet. Will do that tomorrow. glad to see you got a few more after we headed in.
We are having my bro and his wife back from their honeymoon, my parents and Janes mum for dinner tomorrow. I gave 4 away to the neighbour cause we had plenty with the 12 we had.
I think we are having pizza bianca for entree with chilli crab, linguine with crab and queen snapper, parsley, garlic, chilli and tomatoes for main, and home made vanilla bean icecream for dessert.
Hey Brian nice feed there how are the fingers feeling after pulling that thin rope all day it becomes hard yakka after pulling a few lines. How many pulls did u do in that short time. What sort of bait were u using I'm thinking about having a crack at the swan blues Australia day
And gloves, the fingers are feeling pretty good. Baits were Mullet heads, tailor heads, tuna heads, sweetlip heads, spleen and chicken frames. We pulled the string probably 6-7 times.
