More Tailor from the Ski
Submitted by beau on Wed, 2011-01-19 12:46
Headed out Monday morning nice and early, my lil bro and I using Richter plugs only. Had the fish smashing lures from the 1st cast. Caught 6 all up, 3 each, I released my 2nd one as i thought we were going to bag out pretty quick at the rate we were going, but didnt end up getting another hit for an hour after that, so that was a stupid call. Biggest going 55cm, smallest about 45cm. Had another sambo around 1m just cruising under the ski again in about 8m of water, we didnt bother trying to hook up to him this time. Got busted off on a good tailor around 70cm, was no match for the Shimano Catana and 8lb line!

Nah not this time. Lost
Nah not this time. Lost nowhere near as much fish as last time, pretty sure I only lost one hooked fish all morning, i think because the surface was a lot calmer and the fish had a good chance at taking the lure rather than last week and it was a bit choppy and the lure was in the air as much as it was on the water! I'll try suss out sime singles in the next couple of days

keep the plug moving at all
keep the plug moving at all times, either skipping them on the surface or just sub-surface. Yesterday, after we had caught quite a few, we started mucking around and reeling them as fast as we possibly could, and the tailor were still taking them, often jumping right out of the water on the strike. Awesome lures

Maybe ill ask adam to set up a Jetski Fishing photo album in the photo's section.. That way all the photos of fish caught from a ski can be together and easy to find..
