Weather Down South
In response to Colin's interest (cheers! ) , we'd been promised the 'chance of a shower or thunderstorm' (talk about covering all bases ) over Wednesday and Thursday. A lot of cloud about yesterday, with the odd 'spit' and deep thunder rumbles increasing in the evening yesterday. But the thunderstorm never arrived (over Barker anyway). Basically, just constant drizzle or moderate rain over night. The skies are a heavily leaden dark gray outside and getting darker - so, if I dissappear, things might have gobe BOOM!
With NO WINDS yesterday morning, it would have been a cracker for boat fishing and yes, of course, the weather goes to hell in a hand basket for the weekend
On the bright side, the farmers will be getting a good sprinkle and my Monday five hours mowing and slashing my half acre of (almost) lawn, flogging my lil 2 stoke mower hasn't gone to waste

Glad to hear you didn't get hit Colin
They had some pretty sever warnings out for the south last night.
On another matter, according to the Foxtel weather channel's long range predictions (which aren't the most accurate) it is goiung to rain everyday for the next two weeks at least - except next Wednesday. Of course, that includes the 26th of April. So get out your wet weather gear.
That gives me an idea for a new post.

Thanks Colin
Thanks Colin , actually, as far as Barker is concerned, I've never seen a place that can have skies look so threatening and then not rain. I think it's down to the origraphic and penumbral effect of the Stirlings and Porongurups
Just as long as I don't loose my Foxtel signal.
We did cop a few power cuts. All day Monday (due to 'scheduled maintenance') - nice of Western Power (who of course oversea the distribution system as opposed to Synergy that charges for the electricity) to NOT notify us. Also a few hours Tuesday night.
On WET WEATHER GEAR, I do my fishing from a boat Colin so can't comment. I just wear a light spray jacket with a collar hood if needed.

Not bad here today, clouds
Not bad here today, clouds were rumbling away for most of yesterday but no real downpours. Only had 11.5 for the 24hrs to 9am today in my gauge.
Cheers

BOM for Albany :(
Just looked at BOM for the weekend:
Cape Leeuwin to Bremer Bay:
Strong Wind Warning issued for Friday.
Thursday until midnight: NW winds 18/23 knots ahead of a W/SW 18/23 knots change
extending from the west later in the evening. Seas 1.5m to 2.0m. Swell to 3.0m.
Friday: W/SW winds 15/20 knots increasing to S/SW 20/30 knots from the west in
the late afternoon and evening. Seas to 2.0m. Swell to 2.5m.
Saturday: S/SW winds 18/23 knots, easing to 13/18 knots for a period in the late
morning and afternoon. Seas 1.5m to 2.0m. Swell 2.5 to 3.0m.
Sunday: S/SW winds 18/23 knots. Squalls to 45 knots possible with
thunderstorms.
So Albany's not looking too flash .
