Weed along Northern coastline

Hi guys
Pretty new to Aus and been fishing the northern beaches in the Mindarie area a few times a week, with some good produce of tailor. I've noticed that the SW and Westerly winds bring the weed. It's been very challenging this week. The wind seems to change direction to Easterly around midnight. Has anyone noticed the same with the westerly bringing the weed? Is it safe to say that a few hours of easterly will blow the weed away from the coastline? Having some serious withdrawals from fishing here lol!

Weed
Hey Fpt. The wind does not directly affect the weed as such. The westerlys are kicking up a bigger surf and that is knocking the weed from the outer reefs and rolling it to the shore.
When the easterlies blow it drops the wave height so stops the weed getting pushed in. It is still out there there and when it is calm waters, when diving, you can see it sitting in reef hollows just waiting to head to the beach.
Unfortunatly that is the price to pay for having an offshore reef system on our doorstep in Perth. Just wait till the big winter storms hit and some serious weed gets pushed in. A lot of areas become unfishable.
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !
