what to check when buying a 2nd hand inboard volvo

Hi guys, I am about to put an offer on a 2nd hand boat and want to make sure its sound. What should I be asking the dealer to check/show me, provide reports etc. It has a volvo inboard 260hp motor.

Get them to show you some of the engine anodes , if they are worn down it could mean that they haven't or don't know how to maintain the diesel properly.

check your exhaust and cooling elbows they get the most wear a compression test would be a good idea too

Check they will still service it. May sound obvious but I brought a boat with a 16year old mercruiser & found most places did not want to service stern drives over 15 years old.
