what is it worth $

i know there is a lot of ifs and buts about this question, just after a genaral guide.

a mate is looking at a 1999 northshore 6.5 mtr with a 1999 200 2 stroke yammy.

the whole thing is in poor to very average cond including boat, motor and trailer.(380 hrs)

they are still licenced but do req work.

rough run down...paint is badly faded, gelcoat is a bit rough to feel , few cracks in gelcoat, motor badly faded but dose seem to run ok, clears and canopy need to be replaced, interior is worn but not ripped, trailer is ok apart from the brakes.

the boat has not been in the water for a couple of years at least.

a couple of better points, it dose have a new s/steel tank, flush mount gps/sounder, cd, 27meg radio, digatal epirb, good jackets, deck wash, live wells in the rear, kill tanks in the floor, drive on trailer, etc etc

preety much all the standard equipment that they come with (if you know the boat)

just after a rough idea what it is worth,

as is or in top cond?

i have my own thoughts but i dont want to influence any one

cheers

its a good thread idea

Tue, 2010-05-04 20:34

Thats a good thread idea, like an online valuation of your goods for stuff your unsure of.

I've got a cricket ball signed by McGrath, Lee, Clark, Symonds and Warney from the Perth test match in 2005 where they won the ashes, wonder what its worth these days..

Sorry to thread divert. :(

around 15 or so, hours seem

Tue, 2010-05-04 21:04

around 15 or so, hours seem a little low for a boat that old but if its been out of use for a while?? guess it depends if you want to spend the time and money to do it up and source cheap parts/labour or find a slightly newer one for a bit more?

 Run Down   If you could

Wed, 2010-05-05 08:15

 Run Down

If you could pick it up for 15k you would be doing very well .

The hull , interior ,clears etc will set you back a few bucks to restore which is ok ,its just the outboard thats the risk !!!

If the owner hasn't spent and time or money on the above item's ......its unlikely he has spent any time or money looking after the outboard.

Sounds like it will cost

Wed, 2010-05-05 10:28

Sounds like it will cost probably $5k to fix cosmetic stuff and it is probably worth getting the motor looked at. I run the same motor, and the thing has 6 carbies alone, and I know they are bloody expensive to service. It could get over $25k very quickly.

My 20 foot Southwind with a 97 motor was over $30k so I assume a Northshore in decent condition would be more than that.

yes cammos i have told him

Wed, 2010-05-05 12:10

yes cammos

i have told him what mine cost which was 30k and its a 1997, then the 200 yammy blew up with 350hrs which cost another 16k for the new etec.

but he can get it for 15k and spend 5k doing a few things, if the donk is good i think he better off than spending the 30k.

the freeboard on the northshore is huge..and dose have a few better things than our southwinds.

how you finding yours mate? the more i use mine the better its getting, starting to find out what she likes doing and that is going fast....

cheers ron

Cost $15 spend $5 then it may be worth 20 whenits done. depends really on what cosmetically is wrong. But boys don't be fooled its not a southwind....
