I am finally heading up for the Fishwreaked Exmouth fishing comp and was wondering Hmmmm
What should i take with me and was curious what will everyone else be taking up with them?
What fish are you all targeting?
Is their a need for any light gear if so how light?
Its not that far away now bring it on

Last year I used a 30lb 7'
Last year I used a 30lb 7' casting outfit, a PE4 and PE8 jig outfit, but took some others.
For billfish trolling we used 4 outfits, two 15kg and two 24kg ones.
I had some light gear that didn't get used much, I wish I had a heavier spinner for some stupid g-bus that stole my stickbait ;)

Combination of gear Last year
Combination of gear
Last year i was up there, i did use lighter gear around the place (10lb flick sticks) chasing queenies, spango's etc, had a ballk doing this with plastic. But this was the north side if the murions.
Deeper heavier gear was 30lb - 65lb spinning gearon 8-13 & 12-15kg sticks.
Trawling was 15 - 24kg gear.
Since spaniards are the species of choice this year, good number of lures will be required! last year i lost over 20!!!!! dam sharks!
Also going to use plastics and jigs for deeper fish!

If you have a rod and can fit it on
take it. You dont have to take it out in the boat and leave it in the accom, but you'll kick yourself if you want it and dont have it.
As with Bodie, bream rods with plastics chasing spangos etc in shallow water is great fun and a good shallows option for when its windy.
But it will depend on what you are targetting. Have a look at the species list and pin point what you are going to have a crack at if you have limited room to carry gear up there.

I'm taking everything I have, bottom bouncing gear, trolling gear, popping gear and the smaller rods.
We will have to catch up in the next few weeks to sort things out.
