McArthy's

As you probably noticed the McArthy soft plastics have been popular. 5" and 6" paddle tails; and 7" bullhead minnow are the go to, use it on 2oz to 4oz TT jigheads or Nitro Jigheads. Weight of the jigheads will vary a little with conditions. With this friday's condition.....I'd go 2oz on 20-30lb braid.

Cant Go past squidgies mate.

I wouldnt go past shimanos squidie soft plastic range, the S-factor will send any fish into a feeding frenzy. 40-50m of water you might need 4oz jighead with a 5/0 hook if the wind picks up and the speed of your drift, but a light a jig head as possible is the best. Gulp plastics are also good, as a beginner they require less technique and can basically be fished as bait with the occasional twitch, simply because of their construction and scent. Check out a few of the forum posts by TWITCHEMUP and you'll see some of the fish that have been caught on plastics ;)

The new Z-Man plastics are going well, they are the same material as SnapBacks, only bigger.

Mega Strike

Another one that worked really well for us is the Mega Strike 9" Mega Shad. Scented and swims really well. Basically the same shape as the Snapbacks but BIGGER !!
