Grab a Yak Mate

There hasn't been any shark attacks on fishing kayaks i've ever heard of in WA, i've seen some pretty close up when up Exmouth, Gnaraloo, but they tend to be more interested in what youre catching than you. It always pasy to be careful, don't burley heavily from the yak, or leave bags of mulies defrosting in the back, try focusing on lure fishing, which a kayak is a perfect platform for. A shark Shield can also give good piece of mind.

Look at WA, we have a massive amount of water usaers out every weekend from swimmers, divers, surfers and yakkers, and we don't really have a lot of shark attacks here, most of the fear is in the mind fueled by media beat ups and old boys stories, get out there mate and enjoy what we have here in WA!

yeah, go the yak mate, im gonna buy a hobie pro angler soon after xmas, and the first thing im getting for it is a shark shield, just for that peace of mind. I have heard though that they only work on smaller sharks, does anyone know if this is true or not? regardless, i cant wait to get out on the water in the yak, and maybe meet up with some fellow yakkers in Perth.

Mate i'm no expert

But i'd suggest a 4m+ shark in full attack mode at wide open throttle coming out of the depths at you like a fat yank sizing up a box of fried chicken aint gonna stop when it gets a little buzz...

If your numbers up, its up.

Only my opinion, i have no scientific data to support this.

The bigger the shark the better it works its said because the part of the shark that it affects is bigger in larger sharks making the device more effective.

 Hi Guys,

Trust you're keeping well. I am on holidays at the moment but will be back soon to catch up with you on the water.

How about you Yak's and us JetSki's go for a fish out at two Rocks some time in the future?

Cheers
