When does the samson jigging season finish?

hey guys
when does the samson jigging season finish. im still waiting for my new jigging rod to come from america (about 4 - 5 days away) and i was hoping to hit the water within the month if it was still good.

from what i heard
they are fairly patchy at the moment, but they are still around.

i think april is the offical
i think april is the offical end and when the charters stop. check blue juice or mills charters websties. one of them has the season on it but i forgot which one

I work for myself so if unless I'm flat out busy I should be able to have any day off... do you have your own boat or would you head out on a charter? Wether I can afford to go out is another thing.. haha...
