When will we see a large jetty pier built north of the river?
Its been an idea of mine for a while now but wouldnt know where to start to get the ball rolling or idea's into the heads of the polly's.
Picture this.... 1.5- 2klm jetty jutting out from say hillarys or mindari strait into dhui territory. Something very similer to busso jetty. This would generate $$$ in tourism and be one hell of a great fishing platform for us landbased guys.
There are a few nice jettys like ammo jetty, palm beach but these are all south of the river and you cant fish here without idots starting trouble or braking into your car at night.
Should we all get a partition going? I spose in backwards state this would be a pipe dream as the W.A gov loves raking the $$$ in but never wants to spend money.
Something like this would be sweet...
Its nice to dream..

Don't mention pipes or
Don't mention pipes or Barnett will get all sweaty about his pet project of piping water down from the North...
I personally think its nice to have dreams, but getting a 2km long jetty is pretty unrealistic, the big jetties were all created for an economic reason, and I don't think you can pay off a modern structure on tourism funding.

Awesome for us fishos, but
Awesome for us fishos, but the cost/benefit would be too high for everyone else. A Jetty that long would have outrageous upkeep fees, let alone construction cost.
It's a nice dream but I think thats all it is..

Can't even get a decent boat
Can't even get a decent boat launching facility up here so I don't like your chances, although you probably don't have the same obstacles down there.

palm beach jetty
is useless since they rebuilt it!! built it too high and the lower fishing section is usually under water on storm tides! it needed a big tee section like the old jetty! plus they have bombarded it with moorings so you cant ballon off it like we used to, to get out further for pinkies and mulloway
ALL FISHERMEN ARE LIARS EXCEPT YOU AND ME! AND IM NOT SO SURE ABOUT YOU!

Don't like the chances of one
Don't like the chances of one that long 400-500 meters might be acheivable if fishos lobbied maybe,,would need an small entrance fee and maybe small cafe or something to pay for upkeep.

never going to happen! to many EIA hurdles and hoops to jump through.
unless it's services a mining project, then it's a non flyer these days :-(
I just been to some in the USA, now they know how to lay out nice fishing jetties and tell the greenies to go suck tofu!

Like everyone else has siad
Like everyone else has siad its just a pipe dream to have a jetty north of the river. However, if one were to go ahead it would really need to be a beefy structure as the winter storms would just demolish it, which would just add to the cost.
