A mate of mine is on here, Billcollector...

If you goto Broome pub and ask about him, they will know where to find him...

When you find him, buy a bottle of aged chardonnay and track him down...

He's a legend in those parts and has caught more barra than Hiro Nakamura and the whole Nakamura tribe put together...

Feed him chardonnay and talk about the 2018 GF, he'll eventually tell you where the biggest barra in the Kimberley are...

Put some yellow stripes on that boat of yours also, that will help.

Good luck

That is one of the broadest questions you could ever ask, Soooooooooooooo many variables and that is no way having a go at you bud, there are so many places to catch barra that I suggest you plan your trip on area's that you think you can easily access or plan to visit. Once you have a plan and the time of year you intend to travel and fish you will have narrowed down your variables significantly.
Most people tend to settle on area's they intend to fish and then ask for advice, if you ask again at a later date with your plans and time of year I think you will get a few on here replying.
Personally I have spent some time in the Kimberley on a few fishing trips and a hell of a lot in Darwin and feel free to message me anytime.
Cheers
Scotty

Wyndham / Cambridge Gulf would be an option

Thu, 2020-11-26 06:55

You have access to a few river systems with good Barra populations.

Fri, 2020-11-27 17:33

Maybe not enough goon on my behalf but I thought I responded appropriately boon, anyways can't buy goon bags up here ,it is hard enough controlling the neanderthals that create visual and actual polution on our town oval every day of the year let alone controlling me. Liquor restrictions forced on tourists and all law abiding citizens again yesterday due to the unconrtollable neanderthalls the night before. WHAT A FUCKING JOKE. Time to do another email to the premier to see if he actually gives a shit about what is going on in this state and sorting the issue out instead of pulling himself off about covid crap.

If Mainey wants to pm me happy to give him info on Broome and Fitzroy river

 A Neanderthall? Neanderthals

Sat, 2020-11-28 16:01

 A Neanderthall?

Neanderthals are an extinct species or subspecies of archaic humans who lived in Eurasia until about 40,000 years ago. They most likely went extinct due to competition with, or extermination by, immigrating European early modern humans or due to great climatic change, disease, or a combination of these factors. Wikipedia

Bill you must be mistaken, sounds like all Neanderthall are extinct.

Speaking of pollution on an oval, how do you think the Eagles will go next year...

Bugger Mainy, I initially thought from his post he could be fun to have around but bugger him....

I went to Broome for a holiday Bill and I enjoyed it! The problems you referred to are certainly a lot worse than when I first went around 2005. Eating at a restaurant in town and one local asked for money while we're in the middle of dinner!

Must admit we spent most of our time in the Cable Beach area which probably helped. Went to stock up on a week's worth of booze when we arrived which didn't go to plan as I wanted some beer, wine and a bottle of gin. Only allowed 2 of the 3 main food groups at once!

Mon, 2020-11-30 19:04

Try buying that now, a normal day we are restricted to one carton of beer and either 3 bottles of wine or one bottle of spirits. Not an issue but then the neanderthals play up and the rest of the commmunity and tourist get fucked over. If we go on a camping trip it is a fun exercise making sure we are stocked up a week in advance just in case the neanderthals play up..... pretty much over this bullshit. Might bring a load of mates down and camp on the forecourt of parliement house and act like the scum we have to put up with up here pissing, shitting and littering on the steps there, I wonder how long we would last before we got arrested and fined.... That is the basis of my email to McGowan on Sunday.

Tue, 2020-12-01 11:54

Very average. I fueled up there last school holidays and the abuse hurled at the woman behind the counter because the 'customer' didn't have enough funds to buy smokes was pretty impressive.
She just shrugged it off as normal behaviour though.

Don't go there full stop. They stopped being a 24 hour garage a fair while ago due to safety concerns for themselves and their customers.

Fuel up at Dunnings on Clementson st in old LIA heaps cheaper.

 Really feel sorry for all

Wed, 2020-12-02 06:10

Really feel sorry for all you blokes and your families living up there, it's a fucken disgrace. Only been to Broome twice and loved it, got a mate who's lived up there for nearly 30 years now and he's shown me some of the best fishing up there the place has to offer and the muddies

Hope your emails get answered mate and you get the community support that's well overdue. As Boon says no easy answer, my personal thoughts for some of the problem is elders need to be more involved and tribal law.

Because sooner or later there'll be a Kalgoorlie style tragedy.

Wed, 2020-12-02 06:23

You know there is a serious problem when police would rather be posted to Hedland or Roebourne than Broome.

Hedland they get a call for a domestic disturbance and when they arrive there are people yelling in the street.

Broome by the time they get there someone has already been stabbed.

 Broome certainly doesn't

Wed, 2020-12-02 10:45

Broome certainly doesn't have many bleeding heart do-gooders like here in Perth. I know a few locals and they are all in the same boat as Bill. They've got absolutely zero time for the shit they have to put up with on a daily basis.
