Where can you buy Boat side bumper rubber
Submitted by wrappa on Tue, 2014-03-11 00:11
Hi, our 16 ft fibre glass boat is looking a bit tired and we want to replace the side rubber that goes around the whole of the boat to protect it from jetty poles but not sure where to purchase some. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just replaced the entire side rubber on a voyager
Used the white "open D" rubber it looks really good but i did have to trim it abit lenghtwise to make it fit well. Its on the whitworths web site under Anchor/mooring - gunwhale fender there are a few different types so have a look which will be best for you

big black stuff
If its the big black stuff think 40-60mm in the D shape its hard to come by. Used on the old boats like barons and voyagers. whitworths and bias only sold the smaller, cream coloured, i guess a "P" shaped fender stripping. when i was looking anyway.
Did the run around last year, cost $380 to do a 5.2 metre boat. 2-3 person job to do it properly as it needs to be applied under tension. Forgot the name of the place in Malaga i was recommended but they couldnt supply it at the time anyway. Rung the Hillarys boat shop, the guys and they put me onto awarehouse near orrong road.. may pay to call Hillarys, they were really helpfull.... if its the black rubber your after.
