Hi guys, could you give me some info on where to fish for flatties in the Swan? Have not got a boat but looking for one, in the meantime would like to have a go in the river.
Thanks Mal.

Went down to Como Pier early
Went down to Como Pier early one morning about two weeks ago and caught 6 flathead on fly, biggest around 40cm. Look for any structure (weed, sandbanks, etc.) and fish on the edge of those or in sandy areas within the weed banks. There are heaps of whiting in the river, yet to tempt one on the fly though

I went out about 2 weeks ago
I went out about 2 weeks ago to east freo for flattys, spotted a school of whiting and threw a stickbait at them and got a 32cm, after that they were just ignoring whatever I threw at them, but there are plenty there.
Went alfred cove after and waded for about 2 hours, spooked 2 small flattys and caught nothing, just heaps of schools of fish around that I think are mullet. Expected to see a lot more flatties there.
Flats at burswood hold larger flatties but not in big numbers like around claremont
