Unfortunately they haven’t
Unfortunately they haven’t technically done anything illegal if the shark was caught lawfully.

I don’t know the details of
I was referring to fishing and animal welfare offences specifically for the shark treatment.
I don’t know the details of the incident, was it dragged on a public road or in a car park, even if it was a public road if the person was driving within speed limits and with care and wasn’t a risk to the safety of members of the public you will struggle to find any offence that would be followed up. Maybe at a stretch you could raise a transport offence of an unsecured load.
Don’t get me wrong I am not condoning this behaviour, it’s plain stupid but in the eyes of various laws I think you would struggle to charge them with an offence.

Ban fishing, he he said the greens!
I remember reading a news story shortly after they banned grayhoung racing due to animal cruelty shouldnt be sport. Then it said that fishing is next in line on the good doer's list. Obviously your initial thoughts are it will never happen but they managed to kill dog racing which is backed by multiple billion dollar gambling companies???. I still dont think it could happen but sheet like this doesnt help.

big push on at moment in
big push on at moment in cockburn to ban rec shark fishing from local beaches ,
these sorts of incidents only help achieve that total ban on it , which in time will spread to all other sorts of unintended consequences imo

Were kinda screwed.
Yep , metro shark fishing with its perceved and real cruelty, and the burleying that goes on with it , is on borrowed time.
Dont forget the boiling alive of crabs and crays issue that surfaced recently , and lets not forget the blood bath photos on social media
during last years salmon run on the ammo jetty and the like , are playing directly into other peoples ban fishing ideals.
The reason were screwed is you would hope no one on this site or other genuine fishos in the state , are involved in stupid , un nessary cruel behavoir
but the general public dont know that.
I , like many others love a feed of fish or other bounty from the sea , and kill animals everytime i go out, but do like any decent human would
minimizing any distress, brain spiking , ice slurrys etc etc.
There is something disturbingly wrong with people whom go out of there way to mistreat any animal , for no good reason, other than some
psychotic leanings.
If possible for all of us and our familys safety , these fu....ts need mointoring cause knowing a little about emotional disconnect to others suffering these are are
the humans to watch out for.

I must just be a cruel
I must just be a cruel bastard then. I rarely keep fish these days except the odd trip for good eating fish like dhies, KG's etc. Most of my fishing is just for fun and I'd rather let them go than spend time cleaning them!
The greenies would no doubt say I'm just torturing the fish for my own enjoyment but I look after my catch well if I'm keeping it or releasing it. People like me would rate even higher on theri black list I imagine!

Why?
You dont pull slightly under size or unwanted fish in and then tow it behind your car do you?
Catching a dhu for a feed and then releasing a couple of unwanted reefies is still legal and generally excepted by the community
as far as I can see , my point was the numbnuts splashed all over the channel 7 news last night need to be distanced from us by a bargepole.

These things do degenerate
These things do degenerate our hoby and portray it in a bad light, on the plus side the treatment these people get in social media at least serves as a warning to others. Hopefully leading in the longer term to less of these occurrences.
4WDing on the beach or fishing it always pays to be courteous and respectfull other users fishers, surfers, swimmers and the like. There has been some shocking behaviour at Lancelin of late. It gives amunition to ban us from beach driving or fishing, there are precious few places left to enjoy both these aspects of our hobby close to Perth left.
Cheers

The shark didn't have tail
The shark didn't have tail lights, surely it could be deemed as illegal to tow then?
