white Pilchard Bait - Useless???

So thought i would try this bait on the weekend form BCF.

Not sure what fish species target this but i really struggled with baiting hooks with this small fish bait.

Need help getting the best out this bait

wasnt targeting any speciies just fish and catch whatever

when 'soft' its a waste of time trying to hjook up and flies off when casting.

Need a small old esky, some block ice if your freeza has room.

Only take out what you need keep the rest on ice out of the sun, best using scalies or squid, small strip bait with small long shank hooks.

Catch what ever is in the area and use that fresh for bait.

 Assuming you are talking

Assuming you are talking about white bait, I used to use small gangs to present it. Found it quite a good bait to have out off the beach when fishing for Tailor. It would catch those bull herring and silver bream that wouldn't hook up on larger mulie gangs.

thanks all for your time in responding and sharing knowledge.

Long shank hooks sounds great but tend to hook up the dreaded blowies :(

The bait is so small and matching hooks to size of bait is not conducive to snag BLOWIES :(
