Hey guys.
My uncle is now letting me take his boat out which is cool. Planning on getting into some whiting. Decent sand/yellow fun/KG. Obviously decent size!! Now i know people dont wanna give away spots thats fine. But if anyone could hint some. Or any depth to go for???? Would appreciate it :)
Glenn.

Try starting around the 34m contour
drift 100m then drive 100m then drift 100m (assuming an east to west drift) then when you get good whiting on one of the drifts scout around in that depth for pockets of fish. That's what I do, and we get quite a few plump sandies at various spots along the metro coast.
Cheers

Where are you launching from
If its a good sized boat and the weather is good theres plenty of good ground between Garden Island and Carnac. Find sand patch near weed and see how you go. Advantages are if you anchor up and burley should be skippy and you could get some surprises. Also plenty of squid around. Get one, cut off the tentacles and go back to the sand near weed and see if there are kgw. Ive caught both types of whiting in that area between 3 mts - 20mts.
