Yeah I know but I used to be good mates with him and taught him all about bream and their life and how long they live for and stuff. But it has built up a bit, from catching salmon and throwing them in the bin and now spear fishing bream because he says it's better burly then the herring that were schooling next to the bream.

I dare say he was just impatient and overkeen, given the age he is...probably sick of snorkelling around and not seeing anything over 2ft worth trying to spear. Unfortunately his boredom resulted in this very questionable act. I call it an 'act' because its hardly a catch.
Not kool at all. His parents should have educated him better; or maybe they need better education themselves...

i dont think we reeeeeally (err on the side of caution) need to hear his side of story based on the several comments above - hes been kicked from fishwrecked once already for abusive behavior, he catches salmon to throw them in the bin, and he uses bream for burley because he thinks theyre better than herring?
Im all for hearing his side of the story if he is still on the forum tho?

do you guys know for a fact that he didn't say "hey I caught this bream on my 1-3kg rod lets take a funny photo of me with a gun with it"
do you know for a fact that the bream is dead and didn't get thrown back? (is there a hole in it?)
do we know for a fact that he catches salmon and throws them in the bin....or did we just hear this from some other member?
If they are true then ofcourse flame away no one wants to see this behaviour
look....just saying that personally I wouldn't flame someone who doesn't have the opportunity to respond. but that's just me.

Well the OP (lachie14) knew him as a close friend previous to all of kingfisher1/kf1's poor fishing techniques. The reports of him doing what he has done in regards to throwing salmon in the bin arent that farfetched.
Lachie has also posted on here the replies that kf1 had put on facebook, saying that he covered the hole in the bream with his hand because it was ugly, and he believes that bream are better berly-(f-ing berly of all things!!) Than herring.
Im of the impression he still has access to fishwrecked with one of his user id's. I welcome his side of the story, although i dare say he wouldnt respond given his poor form. He would have a lot of back pedalling to do given his fb replies and know history or mistreating fish.
If your overly concerned about his side of the story, track him down and invite him to explain himself, im not saying we should start an all out slag fest, but clearly we need to do some educating.

I'm not making excuses for him, but when all is said and done he is only 14 years old.
I think a bit of a talk about ethics values and self worth would do far better than having him crucified.
With a bit of effort he could turn out to be a real valued member of the fishing fraternity and society.
Just my view on things.

well my concern is that he is 14 and obviously has no ethics. if hes going to target black bream that small with a spear gun- whats next...undersized pinkies? 20 herring for burley? stringing a net across the swan?...all because hes 14 and can get away with it due to ignorance or whatever?
what about these 14 year olds that mug grannys and throw rocks at trains and buses? should they get away with these things just because of their age?
im not saying its only 14 year olds that commit crimes and make stupid decisions. but its around that age, that they start to develop the bad habbits and get mixed up in the wrong things.

At a glance the fish looks to be roughly triple the length of his forefinger and that may even be a bit generous. Say his forefinger is about 8cm long that makes the fish just undersized.
Just a quick assessment and not much to go on but still...

Caught in rossmoyne, had the speargun left in the car from the other day. I wasn't fishing with him because I still don't like him that much, but that's what he sent me in Facebook messenger!

Wow, I havn't looked at this thread in a week, and it's boiled over. Didn't mean for it to go this far... He talks to me on Facebook and its not me trying to get back at him. It's not just one of those immature things. But I think it's the one thing that I thought was really stupid. There are a few things related to him that I thing is just inappropriate to bring up because of the level of hate that he will receive for it. And I'm pretty sure he knows about this but doesn't care. There is picture proof but. Don't want to take this thread that far. Just creating a topic of talking. Not all that stuff about right of response and creating a big argument.
only reason I created it was because I was a little pissed at him for doing this because I have a soft spot for bream.
