Think he may be suggesting

Sat, 2011-08-06 07:15

Think he may be suggesting that given their run home (IMHO that was one of their easiest games last night - maybe NM easier but they too are in form) it is laughable that people think there is a chance. Doing the predictor realistically (dont care cause my team is gonna get the spoon) I dont even see the dorkers getting into the top 10.

What makes it so much better is my father in law is a massive dorkers fan. I love getting up him cause we came into the AFL after them and have had sooooo much more success.

This year we suck... :(

I tend to agree Ray

It is hard to see any realistic chance of making the 8 given recent form and the run home. I'm much more excited about the Eagles prospects and to see how the fight for the 4th spot pans out. I can't imagine the thought of a home final after bearing the pain of the last couple of years or so. This years motto for the Eagles is "we believe" and how fitting is that?

Over the years the Dockers have shown a consistent run of under-achieving. The strategy seems to be and has been to go out and niggle the crap out of the opposition and lose focus on what really needs to be done. The likes of the Car Bros, Mr Headland and now Mr Ballantyne only deliver distractions IMO. Mind you, having said that, the Selwood Bros do their fare share but we don't rely on them to win games for us. I don't buy the injury list as an excuse this year. A side that has depth should be able to handle this. Mundy is a great player but a mid-fielder and there are quite a few of those going round. Mr Sandilands is a rather big guy but without good support he is not always as effective as someone like Dean Cox.

My prediction for what it's worth is that the Dockers will sadly miss their chance this year, The Eagles have a great chance of securing a home final and Collingwood and Geelong will fight it out for the flag.

(Vince ducks for cover.....)

Floggers

Sat, 2011-08-06 07:24

Seriously love this shit. The dorkers have one good season over coast, and get all lippy. Coast have gone from last years spooners, to top 4 and real premiership contenders, whilst the floggers go back to their old ways of playing shit, and their supporters go back to their old excuses book.

The floggers will be lucky if they make top 10 this year.

No way

Sat, 2011-08-06 10:42

I cant see the Dockers making the finals with the run home that they have. Injuries do play a big part especially this time of the season & if you havn't got the players on the bench to play out a game then you will be struggling. I am a one eyed eagles fan but i realy cant see them going too far into the finals if they dont play out 4 quarters of the game. The last few weeks since the Geelong win they have struggled in doing that & have only just scraped in for the points.
If they can kick it up a notch then i cant see why they couldnt take it up to the top teams & make a game of it. But just remember to come from wooden spooners to possible top 4 in a season is a credit to their work ethic & training. Another season for the young guys & they will be genuine contenders.... my thoughts only

cheers Rob

I too am concerned at the issue of playing out 4 quarters. Geezusss last week aged me considerably. I am sure Woosha and the boys are working on this aspect. Let's see...

Definatly is a little strong.

Yes, they've looked good this year but a couple of injuries to key position players and they'd be straight back to the middle of the field.

I think everyone has underestimated the importance of Cox to WCE, he's the engine room of there mid field and without him they are a completly different side. Hence last years wooden spoon.

Yes and no Matt

Cox is arueably the best ruckman in the last decade. What I am seeing is the depth to cope better than other sides have. Nick Nat is clearly able to bring the ball to the ground in the clearances and he is learning fast. What impresses me is the depth of young tallent and their willingness to step up. The Judd saga has been replaced with the Kennedy saga.

The key for my mind is the return of Glass to full form backed up by some great playmakers like Herne and Schofield and McKenzie. Teach guys like Swift to kick properly and you have even more long term tallent. All is well

Sun, 2011-08-21 18:49

another frustrating year as a Docker Supporter coming to a close. no way we can make it now and frankly the way we have plyed since the bye we don't deserve to play finals, i will be cheering the Eagles on for sure as i really don't see the point of hating the eagles as i am a W.A man and support W.A teams so fucking good on them for reversing that poor year and may the boys down the raod take a leaf outta John Worsfold's book and get their shit together and play some good footy and hit a target on the chest.

i'll still be backing the Freo boys next year, i'm not a bandwagon jumper and i don't put shit on eagles supporters either so let my good manners reward me/us with two W.A teams battling it out in the finals next year.
