Woodman Point!!

Gday all,
Hows everyone coping with fishing these days? I'm heading for some land base fishing and I have'nt been to Woodman Point lately and just hoping to see if anyone has been catching any fish lately out that way? I'm hoping to land some Herring and Garfish but it can be unexpected by me. So I was just wondering if anyone has caught any fish from that platform?

Woodman Point Jetty?
Hey, are you talking about the Woodman Point's Jetty? If you are, yeah there are Garfishes around there. On the other hand, I've never really caught many herrings there, just the odd one or two. There are more yellowtails, slimy mackerels, sand whiting and some skippy there tho. Oh i forgot to mention that small schools of little Port Jackson's can be caught from there too sometimes.

I prefer the rock groyne!! So if anyone been landing any it would be dearly appreciated from me!

The little rock groin to the right of the boat ramp at the end of the road. It has a funny lookin weather vain at the end at the car park. On the right as the limestone falls away to rocks, cast out to the right but beware it's only about 2 m deep if that. Should be some squid holding up there. Use a smallish pink jig say about a 2 weight or even a 2.5. Go in the morning at sun up. Depends on the wind tho so just try the other side then. Good luck and let us know how ya went.MAXY

Gday max199!
I landed a couple of nice squid in the saturating rain and 32 Herring aswell 12 Garfishes on the float with a green straw! Can you believe it 12 Garfish hit the cheapest lure ever!! Aswell Dad landed a nice size skippy (43cm) on softplastic and aswell nice size goatfish (66cm).
