Wooramel Roadhouse
Submitted by carnarvonite on Mon, 2020-06-01 18:35
We were due to take over Wooramel Roadhouse on the start of April but the Covid virus shutdown put a sudden halt to that.
We are still here but working for the owners, Neale and Margaret, but don't let that stop you calling in and putting a face to the names we see here on this wonderful site.
At the moment we have our fuel cheaper than Carnarvon and Overlander, good food cooked while you wait so that you know it is fresh and not been sitting on the fridge shelf for days. There are 3 ensuite and 5 budget rooms available, powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites for those who want to stop overnight plus a camp kitchen to prepare your meals.
Look forward to seeing you on your way up north and on your return trip, so drive safe

We had Andy and his mate drop in for a refuel and stop over for the night at 2100 but as we knew he was coming we opened up the bowsers for them. Big thanks to them again.

Howdy Carnarvonite, no,
Howdy Carnarvonite, no, nothing new in motor homes, the one we sold was the best we could have hoped for, that also helped us to sell it so quickly. We are looking at island life, Christmas Island. Looking at a property over there, will probably live there for a time and then rent it out. Can't get across there just yet due to COVID-19, but keen to go and have a look.

Cheers mate, but finding it
Cheers mate, but finding it very hard just to get there. The island opened up to visitors again on the 30th June, but we need to get to WA to catch a flight, and being victorians, nobody wants to know us. So have to wait until we can travel freely again.

Couldn't see him but found him in the end, really nice bloke and running a good show in there.

Big thanks to John and his team.
We stopped by on our way back to Perth from the Montes on Satuday night, Helen was very helpful on the phone and had food ready for when we arrived.
Burger was huge & tasty and the pizza my mate had looked real good. Could park the boat in front of the accomodation, leave hooked up and run a power lead to the freezer which was a big plus for us. Relief knowing the boats contents are safe overnight and not having to take stuff off.

Day off
Had a couple of days off so took a quick trip to Exmouth, got home around 1.00 and would have been in the unit out back with feet up relaxing. You should have asked who ever served you and I would have appeared like magic

We dropped in yesterday on the way home.
Quick top up with fuel so we could make Kalbarri without stopping at the Billabong. John was very busy, good to see, but I didn't have to queue for fuel--there were lines both ways at the Billabong. We'd come straight through from Exmouth to Carnarvon, had a solid 110 k of fog to deal with leaving Exmouth. At the Carnarvon BP they were queued out onto the road for the front pumps, I just drove straight into a fast flow out the back, fuelled and was on my way.

Dropped in for the night on the way to Broome a couple of weeks ago.
Was good to meet John and put another face to a name.
Clean and comfortable room for an overnight stop, and if you enjoy a good burger , I can highly recommend their "Roadtrain" burger, a meal in it's self !
