i got a finn gizmo i bought for the missus n she only used it once, its not the best for fishing by any means but still got the rod holders n stuff, will sell for $300 used once...... but really if u want a real good fishing kayak u cant go past a hobbie thats what i use and most of my mates use hobbie aswell.... the good fishing ones start from about $1300 with the top range being about $2600, cheers.
I have a finn gizmo and a Hobie revolution. The gizmo still has a place in my fishing sessions. It's good for tight snags in calm conditions or for those quicker trips that would be shortened too much by rigging up my better yak. I took it out into Cockburn sounds once too, chasing pinkies but I just got dragged and then busted off.
I guess what I'm saying is that the gizmo is a great little starter kayak and about $50 (for a decent forward mounted rod holder, some bungee cord for a rear crate and a couple of paddle clips from finn) turns it into a fishing kayak. It will help you figure out what you really want in one before you eventually buy a hobie... which you will :)
Hi mate i have a wilderness system tarpon 160i rigged for river/offshore fishing with front adjustable rod holder, anchor trolley, rear crate with more rod holders, plus it has 3 hatches in it,foot controlled rudder
If you need more info call me 0448975070 cheers Paul
