Hi all

At the end of February i travelled up to Kalbarri to support the Kalbarri Classic. I took up a full range of boxes to showcase for the locals and gave the club a 120 and 100litre mackerel box as prizes. It was the hottest weekend i think i have experienced with the temp reaching 45 plus on the Saturday. My other problem was watching the competitors fishing and me not. The Classic was greated with fantastic weather for the whole weekend. All anglers had a great time and i will be planning to head there next year with the boat instead of being the travelling salesman.

A highlight for me was the success of Deon Viagie and his crew aboard ProPlan. They fished the Sat and Sun travelling many kilometres to boat 8 good sized Macks each day. Deon and son Daryn were fishing 6 kilo line and mentioned that they lost a lot of good fish over the weekend. They know what they are doing and have some great lures that do the trick. Look out for them at the next event. They caught so many Macks that they needed to buy two Mackerel boxes off me. Four 10 kg plus macks fitted in each box to the crews delight. Many thanks to the crew on ProPlan and all the other people in Kalbarri that made my weekend a success.

 I stayed at the Murchison Caravan Park, they were great and looked after me. Thanks to Laurie and the organisers of the Classic. There were so many prizes at the presentations i could hardly believe it.

So, do yourself a favour next year, get a team together and head to kalbarri for the Classic, you will not be disappointed.
