And you'll be paying them "experts" to do a basic task for the rest of your life.
I can send you the manual, part #'s needed & the youtube links I used if you decide to have a crack.
You close to Freo by chance?

The question which was ignored was going to lead to an offer to come over and help you do the job i.e an offer to teach you a skill that should you continue to own a boat will save you tens of thousands over the course of your life. But given you couldn't be arsed replying, you're on your own.

a quick one regarding service

Mon, 2017-01-09 15:01

a quick one regarding service intervals and 4 strokes in the 130-150hp range

Yamaha = 100hr or 1yr services
Suzuki = 200hr or 2yr services
Honda = ?
Mercury = ?

While some promote longer intervals between services, could you assume that the cost would be higher, thus works out much the same?

service

Not sure on that Suzuki service

only speaking on suzuki's as that is my outboard brand, some parts last 200H, but as recommended in the manual it specifies 200h or 12 months on most periodic items or less 100h or 6 moths on oils etc.
I would say the majority of rec boaties are only doing 100 hours every 12 months and just getting an annual service anyway which is usually a 100h service at most workshops.

Looking at the state of my oil after 12 months and around 100 hours I will be going back to changing my crankcase oil every 6 months, it takes about 15 minutes so why not

I have been servicing my DF90 myself after paying people either too much to do the job and in some cases not even doing the job. the peace of mind is with me now that everything is taken care of properly
