Will be in if im not heading away.
Few outfits... 24kg ir 15kg live bait outfit.. 15kg slidebait outfit.. bait fish setup.
Will bring a few extra setups if people need gear. I think i have two sand spikes, no extra ones though.
Gimbal and harness, extra long nose pliers and other stuff needed for catch release. 50kg digi scales.
Dont have a gaf, but would also rather not see one bought along too as its not the aim of the game. Best to bring a noosed rope along to put around the tail if needed.
Will bring rope for such use.
Berly, a few kgs of bloody mince meat and such with fish oil should do the trick.
Cheers,
George.

tow out the big big baits just on dusk, dont really want to be paddling out in the pitch black after the berly has been doing its thing for the last few hours. haha.
i remember a guy back home swimming his baits out, first one got taken about 5 mins after he got back into shore.. landed a 4 foot bronzie and released. Swam the next bait out and it got picked up only seconds after he got back to his reel, 6 foot bronzie landed and released. haha madness huh!

ohkay all,
what times are we getting there and also when are we going to start 'chuming up'???
also, where have we decided?
Yanchep you can see your car from the carpark (kiosk/cafe) or club capricorn where you cant see your car but there is very little chance of hoons or anything.
and another thing is, i heard that the Year 12 leavers will be at Club Capricorn over a weekend soon, but not exactly sure if its the 28th if it is we will go to Yanchep lagoon?

meet at 5pm, gives at least an hour and half to get everything sorted and setup before that sun goes down. Especially if we are yakking baits out, that would be my prefered option.
start chumming up as soon as possible, as long as no swimmers are in the water ! :)

well... past the first
well... past the first breakers would be ideal...Depends on the beach situation.
100m should be sufficent but would like to a set a bait 200m out if i can. Thats where i like to set them when ballooning dead baits.
I have a dolphin torch which i will bring, but head lamps are the way to go. I have a spare if needed, might need a couple AAA batteries.
Will set up a main area for all the gear if there arnt too many, other wise just spread out amoungst a few groups.... last thing you want to do it hook up and hook up again with half a dozen other peoples lines. Never fun to have your line chopped with the knife.
Are we able to set up a fire there? I think a few of the wanbro boys could sort that out if they are comming. They had a nice one going last time i was down there. LBGer?
Im in now as im not able to head away... stupid work!!!!!!!!!
What berly/bait will people bring... im gonna head to the local butcher and get into the cheap mince meat 4 kg worth.. Will add some fish oil to the mix.
Would be good to get some really bloody stuff... even blood its self. Have never asked for it from the butcher but would be good to get.

lines out?
Just a thought, when fishing for sharks with mates we normally work it so that if someone gets onto a decent one all lines come out of the water.... Often end up over a hundred metres or so down the beach by the end of the fight, could be some massive tangles...... I guess if yacking baits out this is a bit more of an issue though?
I would be keen on a fire but i think its total fire ban by then hey?

mate ive looked everywhere for decent slides and all the ones you can get here r too flimsy and get destroyed on the first fish. RAGBAG ordered some like a year ago so I was thinking of doing the same in a month or so if ya interested. in the mean time blue water scarborough has them and oceanside may do as well from memory
BTW what do you think of the trinidad compared to the torium, im trying to find a reason to justify buying a trini 50

Hi Cuthbad, - thanks for the advice on the sliders. Will check them out.
Trinidad is just sooo much smoother. Both on casting and reeling. I had both reels washers replaced with carbontex washers - they can manage up to 250kg heavies easy. Seen a ragged tooth caught with a Trinidad 50 - that were almost 300kg - in Port Elizabeth South Africa. Excellent reel. You can give it a go when we meet up.
Cheers

I have a few extra slides i can sell off... got a heap of them from South Africa through Dave - RagBag. Yet to use them though, but they sure are solid and look the business. Better than any i have bought from the shops here in perth.
Should be a good mix of people, just gotta get the bait berly sorted. No use everyone bringing a ton and we end up with more than is needed. Though too much berly wont be a problem. :)

yea they are quality hey.
yea they are quality hey. can get very similar through rockhustler i think, but the bank transfer fees r fu*&ed . Had some of the bluewater ones and even a medium size ray stretches them out to the point that they are useless, a decent shark would DESTROY them.
Looking nice out tonight, hope the weathers like this in a week or so!!

Would have been great to do
Would have been great to do it on the 22nd.... full moon!
Anyone had much more action with sharks on the full moon?
I remember a session i had many years back on a surf beach fishing Great Barrier Island in NZ... We were just camping there and decided on heading to the the closest beach for a fish around 10pm. Was a very very clear night with a massive full moon. Every cast out got hammered by sharks, just little school sharks or bronzies.. 4footers. The sure did test the 10kg line, great fun.
Next night at the same place and there was nothing around.

Was all good out there last
Was all good out there last night. Definatly alot of potential for a few more hook ups there. Little annoying with the weed around and not being able to balloon a bait out for the biggies but will definatly be up there again.
Good on you for paddling a few baits out Eric. that extra $10 you earned can buy you a slide or two..
Think that will be my next purchase a decent rod for sliding baits out with on an sl50sh. I have a 3 piece 10 foot 24kg rod, just a little too stiff i think for casting out though, will test out down at the park this week sometime. Suits overheads but best for livebaiting off the rocks.
Cheers for the beers and good company guys. Nice to see one of the target species get picked up too. good work
George.

Im up for it... i recon we got a whole heap of keen people here. Someone just needs to make the call on a date or location and the plan will unfold.
I recon that area around secret harbour would be worth a shot.. long stretch of nice coast line. Heard of the odd pink snapper being taken around there too.
A few weeks for now would be good, middle of December.. 10th or 11th or 17th/18th...
If we organise things nice and early like was done with this last trip should be good.

definitely in for sor fish was really spewing couldnt make that far up
and diehard sorry to let you down but seceret harbour has crap waves all dumpers
i was fishing seceret harbour last night and was talking to a local feller and he was saying that closer to the back of long point is the best shark spot around and it was also verified by a ex professional shark fisher he stated that there is a reef a few hundred metres off the beach and that is where the sharks seem to group.

date set then...
date set then... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pen that one into the calender. Its ON>
I have a few extra slides i could sell off, but would rather keep a hold of as they look to be the bees knees, great quality and sure produce the goods.
Keep those two days open 17th and 18th, and give a few days notice as to which one we decide on hitting the beach for.
Cheers,
George.

I have fished warnbro quite a few time now.. and have only ever hooked up monster rays... have fished a fair way down towards Long Point itself. But have done very poor out there. Few tailor around though.
You recon walking right out to the point and headed south a bit mroe could be the go? I will be keen as that area would be good for balloons and also slide baits. bit of reef out there but some clean areas.

bloody long walk over 2kms
bloody long walk over 2kms and its very shallow if you look at the charts i fish warnbro alot and its my go to shark beach but there only small longnose grey sharks ranging from 4ft-5ft but thats only casting short distance if slide baiting might be some bigger bities out further.
the biggest shark i know of caught at warnbro was a 9ft bronzie on the drop off
thats apart from the great white that likes to lurk
