Where can i fish in 22knot SSW'lys?

Just finished work, no work tomorrow... keen and itching for a fish... but strong winds not ideal for the usual moles fishing....

WHAT'S A BLOKE TO DO!?!?!? dont make me go to the swan and farm for blowies.... gimme some ideas on where else i can fish that will be sheltered from the wind or something!!

Cheers,

Dave

Just fish the moles anyway, bit of wind never hurt and it brings the tailor on better anyway..

Naturaliste

Thu, 2010-12-02 17:24

Take the drive and head down to Cape Naturaliste and fish just to the right of the point. With a bit of extra line you might get a balloon out that will be visible from Bunbury!!

Seriously there are some good spots down there that are protected from winds from the SE-S-SW that produce tailor, herring, sambos and even tuna

Thats what i thought , but

Thats what i thought , but they were least 5 of them with big rods out hogging the tip area and some people catching undersized tailor and keeping it, reckon one guy would have got at least 20 before i left the place.

Yeah maybe, but even though

Thu, 2010-12-02 21:20

Yeah maybe, but even though if they were targeting illegal species not much can be done about it because they can just say they are fishing for legal fish.

Well, I recon if ya see

Thu, 2010-12-02 21:20

Well, I recon if ya see someone taking undersized fish, it is our duty to bloody well dob em in.....would not normally condone this, but we are talking about the future of the fish resource, and there are a lot of meat heads doing the wrong thing. Screw em.

you just walk up to see how

Thu, 2010-12-02 23:37

you just walk up to see how they are going and trip over their bucket, oooooppppsssss sorry i slipped .

Cant believe in this day and age with all the restrictions and all the talk that goes on about the sizes of diff species there are still some out there that dont give a hoot.

your best bet from memory you should try the tip of the north mole facing scarb's. at least you wont be casting directly into it

Long Point

Fri, 2010-12-03 11:54

With these southerly winds just find a place that faces north, be it rocks or a section of beach. Google maps will help.

I fished the Northern side of Long Point last night, there were a few herring and tailor about. Ended up with 3 tailor of 34cm+ and a couple of herring. Hordes of trumpeters around though.
