Dowie If you are confident and have some experience
and a reliable pair of reef boots, you can walk out onto the reef in front of the cafe there. You will need to fish the early mornings next week when there will be a low tide. You also want to make sure that the swell is not too big.
If the conditions are right you will find that is one of the best fishing spots around the Perth metrto area. If tghe wind is not too bad, cast out some unweighted mulies on gangs and you will have a great chance to catch some nice tailor.
I would suggest you take a bag that you can hang over your shoulder so that you can put your catch in it as it is a bit of a walk back to wear you need to store your fishing gear, etc.
If the reef is not good for you, try any of the beach spots to the south of the reef and there should be good fishing.

And join in the rest of the gang there
It's getting more fished every day.. Just like my "office". I need a boat so I can protect my spots... :(

Try the surf club carpark
Try the surf club carpark just before the lagoon cafe.
If you follow the track down it will come out at the end of the visible lagoon reef.
set up a paternoster with 4/0 or 5/0 gang and use mulies. Use a 4oz star sinker as the current/wash is strong on some occasions.
cast as close to the wash zone just inside the reef. there is a nice gutter that is made from the current.
Usually there is tailor, tarwhine whiting and herring With any fishing fish the tides and the times. Eg dusk and dawn.
Goodluck.
