Anyone know if your allowed to fish in yardie creek? the map of the marine park i found on Exmouth tackle and caming doesnt show it as being a sanctuary zone?
haha thought it probably was, Be nice if it was noted on the calm map lol. any other creeks in the area accesable by regular two wheel drive cars? would be good to get onto some jacks
as far as i know from talking to the local officer there you can fish the north bank .. but they really dont like it .. adam would be able to confirm this tho
Still havent found a deffinate answer not even on DEP website, ill just have to ask calm when i get up there probably my best bet. Always some other places to fish if its a no, thanks for the links etc
I must say whilst I was up there at the end of 2010 I went on a kayak up the river with my fishing rod. It was so quiet on the creek we were the only ones there...how lucky! But yes I too looked on the maps that we had and it did not say anything about restrictive zones in Yardie, so I did fish it (catch and release) loads of cod and sooty grunter (I think they were). I have seen a couple of youtube vids of people fishing Yardie so?
But anyways even if you can't fish it Yardie Creek is beautiful and well worth the visit and there are heaps of other fishing options as I'm sure you are aware!
