Yellowtails all 68 of them!!

Still being in Vic ( worse luck) I looked up Yellowtail to see if it was a WA name for a well known fish aussie wide , but according to the free encyclopedia wikepedia there are 68 species of yellowtail fish. So what are the ones you refer to in the Perth region, how big do they grow & are they edible?

Yellowtail
Are you talking Yellowtail Kingfish which can get to a fairly big size or the small baitfish size ones. We have both

taken underwater so I suppose they were just bait fish.
Very silver with yellow tips to tailfin. They looked a bit like herring.

searched the web & they look like what
we refer to as horse mackeral. Cant see a likeness to a shetland pony though. lol
