Your best fishing memory from 06?

What was your best fishing moment in 2006? Mine was definately catching my first marlin in Exmouth shortly followed by my first solid yellowfin tuna that afternoon, one I won't be forgetting anytime soon!!

So what was your best fishing memory/moment from last year?

duckdive

Being in a small avon boat that "duckdived" through someone elses wake and nearly dissappeared to the bottom of the kent river, was a classic, not to mention the ride home.

Even better that I got the hook covers on video too, what a classic. Yep, the title Scotty 'nofish' Streetfighter will be with you for sometime, well, until I see a decent fish posted thats not a sambo. ;)

cant tell ya bay

Sat, 2007-01-06 11:31

last mays trip to cant tell ya bay would be right up there
also catching a size dhui on a mates sons busted arse bream rod and reel about 2 kms of the quindilup boat ramp .wasnt a baddie due to the fact that the other people in the boat and myself were gob smacked as it was weed and we were fishing for whiting and squid
and of course coralbay teasing up 2 marlin .would of been right at the top if we had landed one of em haha
always in it just the depth that varies

Didn't have the best year,

Sat, 2007-01-06 11:45

Didn't have the best year, mostly because I didn't get to visit K-town as much as I hoped. January was in Bali so didn't get to fish much. April was probably the best trip I had there this year, with a nice chinaman off courtenay shoal and watching Glenn get smoked by something big that busted him off. September trip was more business than pleasure with me having job interviews flat out during the week I was there. Had a bit of fun down a local estuary but mostly just sussin it out for the summer. Didn't visit in Dec due to me moving over there in Jan so hopefully everything should change next year!

Mine was a little 3 hour

Sat, 2007-01-06 20:03

Mine was a little 3 hour session with baitcasters on snapper off city beach wich got us our quota and released a heap of good fish. And was topped of with Adams 10kg plus Dhuie on a bait caster.Allways good to have a good memorable session in local waters.

Now that was definately a close second, never had metro fishing like that and doubt we'll see it again in a hurry. That was pure magic, lets see what tomorrow produces, you just never know. :)))) I'm just happy to be out on the water, getting a fish or two is a bonus.

Mon, 2007-01-08 00:34

i didnt do this in 06 i did it last night but it was funny, i had a bucket with a plastic bag with all the bait in it, i went to cast and managed to hook the whole bag on the way and flung 2 bags of bait into the blue. a swift retrieve got em back safely.

Rowley Shoals

Wed, 2007-01-10 07:57

As many of you would have seen, the photo's of Rowley Shoals, this fishing would most probably be my fishing of a lifetime (hopefully not) let alone for 2006.
I will be heading to Cape Don in May 2007 for another fishing adventure.
