Anyone know what type of shark this is?

A mate caught it by the tail (yes with his right hand) as it swam under a jetty in Tassie. Did a few close swims under the jetty, a foot below the surface. I took this pic with my mobile the first time it swam past. A few minutes later, my mate bent over and timed his grab to perfection, hauling it up on the jetty all hissing and shit. Was put back safely.

Bite
The wobby is the only shark that can bite its own tail, food for thought for next time you grab one.

Fascinating little shark.
Just stumbled on this old post of a sharks ID. Thought i'd see what shark you were talking about Paul as i know its not a cobbler carpet shark as i have a photo of one i caught.
Sure enough was a draughtboard shark. Never heard of them before. Fascinating little buggers of the catshark family. They look like the perfect candidate to have in the tanks at AQWA.
Info and pics i looked up

Cobbler carpet shark
Looked up the good book and its a near perfect match for the cobbler carpet shark, one usually classes all of them as wobbies without going into finer detail.
The "good" book is "Sea Fishes of Southern Australia by Barry Hutchins and Roger Swainston plus The Marine Fishes of North Western Aust and another Marine Fishes of Tropical Australia and South East Asia and last of all a Field identification guide to Western Australian Sharks and Shark Like Rays issued to all shark fishermen
