Ouch is not the word I would have used and it wouldn't have been just one word.Either he has a small wrist or thats one big treble any which way its off to the doctor for him
Treble hooks are a nightmare compared with normal hooks. You just dont have the capacity to push it through, and cutting the hook also causes pain. You dont need anaethetic for some single hooks because there is ways to disimpact the barb and pull a single out without to much pain.
With trebles this is not possible and I would block the whole area, then cut the hook and either use a disengage or push trough method to remove the hook. Scalpel rarely needed.
Hope this helps but ouch and it has happened to me more than once.

What are the options? Cut it
What are the options? Cut it and push it through and through, or local/general and scalpel it straight out?
I'd be keen on the general I think.

Either way
Either way from the original pic, they are both going to hurt, the second pic is a pain in the hip pocket.
