Saturday's catch minus one big queen snapper that was already being filleted. A great feed for a few families.

Cuttlefish
Its a tough one with cuttlefish. These one's didn't taste that great because they were really thick and difficult to cook all the way through without making the outside chewy. It may have just been the way it was prepared though.
We used the tenticles for bait, awesome for staying on the hooks and denying the pickers of an easy meal.

Eating qualitys of cuttlefish
cuttlefish are top tucker, u just have to use a fast hot method of cookery i prefer to score the flesh of the cuttlefish, and no smart arses not the same way u want to score with the opposite sex. This is done by making tiny incisions into the flesh in a Cris's cross method aprox 1cm apart and not all the way through the flesh and only cook for aprox 30secs, remember that heat is the integral part of cooking the flesh. Some say its better than calamari i tend to agree give it a try u will be pleasantly suprised. cheers bolts

The chef knows they are good to eat.
I agree Bolts,
Another tip is to smash the living daylights out of it with a tendrising mallet, then cook it up nice and quick on a high heat with some sweet chilli sauce. Mmmmmmmm
I must say though I had a Cuttlefish about 5 years ago that made me come up in hives all over my body. I think it either wasn't skinned properly or hadn't been cleaned of all the ink (I wasn't the cook). I must be allergic to one of those two ingredients as I have cooked it up myself only a couple of weeks ago and prepared it very carefully and didn't get any hives.
Cheers

Nice tasting but!
Nice catch Adam,I prefer cuttlefish to squid by a small margin but that's based on the small Cockburn Sound cuttly's I get which are delish :)

Big Cuttleys
The big cuttley's werent that good, really needed to be tenderised as they were quite tough and chewy. Don't mind small cuttlefish as they are tasty as, but my preference would be for squid these days. One of them was an absolute monster, never seen one so big in my days of fishing.
