Got my first Salmon for 2009 yesterday on a cheap flick rod I bought to use for Whiting. Only saw one other Salmon get caught the whole weekend and the weather was perfect, light SE all avo and dropped off about tea time which made using the gas BBQ easy work then sit back with a coldie and watch the sun go down, you can't beat it. Sunday morning as the sun came up I was casting mulies but the bait was being stripped by plagues of small Herring no one seemed to be catching much. The track in was good a little bit chopped up near the tops of dunes, the Nissan got in and out no probs.
