Hi All. I'm looking at buying a new boat. I have looked at Trailcraft ect and even though they are great boats there is 1 boat I haven't heard much about. Its an Evolution Titan 550. Does anyone out there know anything about these particular boats ie stability, Ride in rough seas, build quality ect. Any info would be a great help.
Cheers

watto, cant help ya about
watto, cant help ya about ride but regarding build quality, best thing to do is go to a boat show when all the boats you want to look at are in one place and compare the quality.l did that when the mandurah show was on. things to look at are the welds, the fitout and so on.you will be surprised at the difference from the worst boats to the best.ya get what ya pay for.

Yeh cheers Paul I used to be
Yeh cheers Paul I used to be a boat builder for Trailcraft so I know what to look for quality wise but quality doesn't always mean performance in the water. The hull shape on these boats look like they would give a good stable ride.

Evolution
Yeah I saw the evolution boats on one of those boat sales websites once and I tried to find out a bit more info about them but came up with nothing.
Tried emailing the dealer who had advertised it didn't get a response.
They look like really nice boats though.

I test drove an Evolution
I test drove an Evolution Centre cab 6.7m a couple weeks back,
Man AWSOME hull, the thing flies. The boat builder is located in Port Kennedy

Rob is the guy who owns it, and trust me, he gave us an awsome test on the hull with a 175 etec.
Im in the midst of buying one myself but close to 7m island cab, Dual 115 etec's
I work with a fe guys who own Evolution boats, and they cant fault the hulls. Rob takes great pride in his boat building and painting. He also paints many other brands of boats, of which i wont mention on here :)
Suggest giving them a call!

Bodie is there any reason
Bodie is there any reason that you are going twin 115 instead of a single say 175-225?
The down side of the second motor is the price of your services and you loose about 30-40% of the power on the second motor due to drag and weight.
On the positive side you have plenty of torque and the saftey aspect of a second donk.
If you were to trial the 7m on one motor(115) you will be lucky to get 12-14knots full tilt.
I did the test on mine and was blown away.
I'm running twin 135s on a smaller boat and thats about what I got.
IF IT SMELLS LIKE FISH IT MUST BE GOOD FOR YOU!
