G'day Colin, large cup face

Sat, 2008-06-28 10:18

G'day Colin, large cup face poppers like the Cuberas are probably the easiest to work and suit most conditions. I like them quite a bit. The Craftbaits are an AWESOME popper, pictures just don't do them justice. You really need to see one in the flesh in order to appreciate just how good they are. At around $85-100 a pop they're not cheap though.

Good info jay!

Sat, 2008-06-28 10:22

Cheers Jay. I've got a cupple of poppers in my kit - nothing fancy though! Just been waiting on the right situation. Ouch on the $85-$100! Surprised As you say, you wouldn't want to many of them smashed off!

5 Days Colin :)

Good luck

Sat, 2008-06-28 17:47

Jay, what a spot - i fished the Shoals when i was 18 (now 38) - atleast once a month whilst prawn/scampi trawling off the norwest and got absolutely smoked. We used to fish one size, 24kg(mono) on a Butterworth 'exmouth' rod & Daiwa sealine 900. That was heavy back then but with todays tackle it would be fantastic to get back there with the gear your taking and get into the XOS trout/trevs on the inside and the Doggies/Sails etc on the outside.

green with envy, i will get back there one day, - i dont think too many lures will come back though - atleast not from fishing the inside. All the best.

Thanks Moylee, certainly

Sat, 2008-06-28 20:17

Thanks Moylee, certainly want to do a fair bit of lagoon fishing for GT's, trout, red bass etc. Tough country for sure but 100lb braid atleast gives you a fighting chance. Doggies will be the main target on the outside. Can't wait.
