Trailcraft Trim Tabs

Is anyone running trim tabs on their Trailcraft?  I have a Trailcraft 5800 Trailblazer.  Looks a bit hard to fit trim tabs with the transom ladder configuration since there is no clearnace between the ladder and transom.  I have seen the interceptor trim tabs that look like they might work a treat.  Does anyone have these interceptor trim tabs?

SS Hand railing

Hi all, looking to get some SS handrails, rod holds and stubby holder fabricated and installed.
Any recommendation for anyone down Rockingham way?
Would need to measure, fabricate then install on the mooring or jetty.

Cheers

Shark Perception Survey

A student of Robert Brander, an Associate Professor at University of New South Wales, is studying people's perceptions of sharks based on their background and ocean usage.

Personally, i think it's the first piece of research that has the potential to move the debate forward.  They'll be able to determine the perceptions toward sharks from people who do and do not use the ocean.

Here's what their aim is...

"The aim of the survey is to contribute valuable data that will help bridge the gap between policy, shark management and public opinion. We are particularly interested in how your personal background (e.g. where you grew up) and interaction with beaches and the ocean ahve influenced your perceptions of sharks."

Coral bay may 2017

Coral bay this year was one for the family and a memory for our hearts. This year was a bit harder than normal as we returned to coral bay since losing my niece a year ago to brain cancer so this year was a memory year off the great times we had in coral bay with her over the years.

fishing was a bit hit and miss at times and sharks were still in big number (cull needed) we got into some great fish with the family got my 2 nephews out a fair bit and they got into some great reds and other fish was awesome with them after what they both been through the past year. Got some great reds and my old boy got an awesome 9.5kg saddle tail catch of the trip. Did few days deep dropping nothing massive or anything that was good got sharked. Few screen shot of the sounder on here to new set up with the simrad nss12 evo 2 running a in hull m260 brilliant set up happy with how well and easy it is to use.

First trip also up this year with my daughter and hanging down at the beach with the wife and her was definitely one to remember even got her out for a fish at 1 year old was great fun

Already looking forward to next year

Renovation - builder recommendations

 Hi guys

Ive got a friend who is looking to renovate an older house in North Perth. So far they have received 1 quote which on face value seems bloody high.

Can anyone recommend a builder who would undetake this type of job. You would think in this environment that builders would be able to sharpen their pencils a little.

Cheers

Brad

Final Bye Rounds - Danger, Danger!

Yes that's Patrick Dangerfield who is going to tear our midfield to shreds.

I can't see Hutch going with him and will likely take Selwood so will Shuey go head to head? Should we bother trying to shut him down? Does Simmo even have a game plan besides kick it to Kennedy and McLovin taking intercept marks?

I wonder if Partington will get a game if he wins the Sandover?

We need Darling and Lecca to fire against a young Geelong backline and with Cole and Barrass coming in I can see McLovin going forward too but the key is going to be stopping the Geelong mids kicking goals.

Too many questions not enough answers with my boys

Boat Insurance for vessels over 15 yrs for Glass boats 20 yrs for Ali

Hi fellas , This has probably been asked before but here goes anyway. I recieved my insurance invoice the other day and it tells me i have to get the boat surveyed in order to continue insurance. Question - R there any companies about that don't require a survey for older boats. Am over these money gouging grubs and am thinking of doing away with it altogether,  looking for alternatives.

recommendation on a ducted evaporative air conditioner please.

Anyone recently installed an evaporative ducted air conditioner?  Doing a reno and at the stage of selecting the air con system. Can anyone recommend a brand of ducted evaporative air conditioner? I have checked previous posts but much of the information is several years out of date and a lot can change in that time. I also don't need to be sold on the merits of evaporative versus refrigerative. I intend to run both. Evap during the day to keep the themal mass of the house down whilst running off the PV panels and split refrigerative in selective living areas if necessary. Any thoughts on your experience with a brand either positive or negative would be welcome.

looking for recycled bricks

Sorry not fishing related but fishwrecked has helped a lot over the years so thought I'd give it a shot. Looking for recycled bricks so if your knocking an old home or walls down with old recycled bricks in it and don't want them I can come pick them up and will clean them up. Cheers marko

AFL - the bye rounds

So this sort of marks the halfway point of the season.

Peoples thoughts on where your club is at?

Personally? I am happy with freo's progress.  Two of our trades have fitted in really well and playing some great footy (hill and hamling).  The other two are taking some time and still very inconsistent week to week.  Kerstan seems to play on confidence alone.

The young kids played last year are developing well.  Weller, blakely.  Tucker sort of.

Fyfe will improve.  A few critics just need to give him time.  Sorry, not sorry.  But noone can be expected to come straight back in at brownlow winning form.

All in all i didnt expect we would have six wins and be in the eight.

I am happy.

Who is servicing your Suzuki?

Hey guys my 115 Suzuki is now due for its 200hr service, just wondering where everyone else is getting their suzis serviced SOR, wasn't overly happy with the 100hr service when the servicer didn't acknowledge a verbal deal we had and charged me, I'd rather give my money to someone else from now on.

Thanks

Where did we end up over WA Day?

So did anyone get out adventuring over the long weekend - where did you end up from where you started?

I started at Karratha and headed to Marble Bar for a frothy at the Ironclad and then found a hidden away billabong 30km from town to camp for the night.  Ventured out to Woodie Woodie and Carrawine gorge and pushed through skull springs road through to Nullagine and found a nice camping spot on the Nullagine river.  Never really been that far into the back country - bloody nice time of year for it.

Weipa

this place is very fishy, I took a drive down to the beach, the photo here doesn't do it justice. Other pic is from the plane flying out. I'd love have my dinghy here but rods for me, just crocks and huge frogs.

i sold my softail slim , which meens i only own 4 motorcycles now , much to wifeys relief , what she dosnt  know is i have put a deposit on a 2018 HD trike , the plan is to put a tow bar on it  and use it to towe my new 16 foot dinghy to the ramp , dosent get much better that , riding , fishing and boating  all together  , if only i could catch fish

Celebrating WA long weekend, updated

 WA long weekend.

Drive onto the beach in front of my WA house

A few k's along a WA beach

With (some) of my WA kids

Throw out the swags

Arc up a fire

Crack a coldie

Catch a WA tailor

And watch a WA sunset

Morning surf on my WA made mal with my young bloke

At a recent meeting with our Council CEO, he made a comment "I'm from the east coast, and I'm surprised your still allowed to drive on the beach over here".

The freedoms we enjoy here need to be protected into the future, whether it be fishing, coast access etc

Apathy will give it all away...

RIP John K Watts

I was lucky enough to meet John in a pub that he owned back in 2001. We on a footy boys night out when all the country lads came down to the big smoke. Pretty sure one of the lads is married to his daughter and he kept the jugs flowing and sat with us telling some ripping yarns.

Larger than life character with a big heart and big laugh.

Are the hawks back? Are the e girls back to travel, can shockers recover to beat the pies, bring it on.

Flat as today

Took a run out today , not very productive as far as fish goes with only a mulloway around 8kg worth keeping and 200+ undersize pinks released but the conditions were fantastic.

Origin Game 1

Got a beer and ready to enjoy.

Trailer height

About 90% of my trailer is going to the galvaniser tomorrow for stripping and re-galvanising. I've cut some roller brackets and welded on new conical rollers which has greatly improved the drive on ability of my trailer. I was only going to get the roller brackets done but I've decided that with surface rust starting, the whole frame is getting done.

Anyway, I pull it with a lifted 200 series and with the height of the tow ball on the cruiser, the ass end of the trailer ends up with about 90mm ground clearance. I know I could install a drop hitch which would help slightly but since I had the trailer in bits I decided to put the axles under the springs for a look.

Unfortunately the brake setup with offset axles means that to make it work the height change is a lift of 200mm giving a new clearance of around 280mm. The frame also sits level and the tow height matches the cruiser but it is higher than I really wanted to go.

Now I know I will need to drive the trailer further down the ramp (should be about 1m at Ocean Reef) to launch, the boat will tow a bit higher on the road, and other than higher storage height, but are there any other serious considerations I need to think about.

I think the shallow angle ramps will cause a problem and will mean the cruiser wheels will need to be in the water on these ramps.

Anyway, I have a few days turnaround at the galvinisers to decide whether I go with the lift or go back to the ass dragging setup I had. At least the trailer will be sparkling with new galv..

Any opinions appreciated.

advice from knife sharpening experts

so the title should read knife repair experts really!

I have a few knives that are about as sharp as a plastic ruler - edges are damaged and yes they frequent the dishwasher everytime they need a wash
I have a mix of Swibo and Global with stuffed edges

What is the best way to repair them DYI? assume it would be with wet stones but I do have a bench grinder :-)

Seized Boat

Spotted Fisheries new boat visiting in Denham today, all painted up after being seized for some offence.

Somehow do not feel sorry for the previous owner after losing pots off Two Rocks many years back to some of his ilk.
