I was wondering how many people have been and who they went with. I want to do a 3 day trip hopefully to the northern group this time as i fished the southern last time.

I was after any info on the charters you went with like price and how you rated them?

Its such a great place and want to get back.

i am looking to go out in the holidays for some fishing outside the local areas, im looking at exmouth as a limit for north and maybe espearence south.

i would like to get some info from those that have abit of experience with these areas and how the fishing would be around this time of the year? it will be landbased and i want to get in to some serious fish if possible and not the usual bream, chopper tailors etc.. big tailor would be nice.

im not looking at exact spots but just wanna know how it will be, what i should expect from the area as far as the fish species, what are my chances at catching a good sized fish, what are the best times to fish, lure or bait etc

im thinking more towards exmouth but ive never been there and dont really what to expect ..

any help and info would be really appreciated,

What is everyone up to?

I'm heading out wide, picking up mates at rotto then going for a straight hook freedive at a FAD, then trolling to dhuey spot maybe via a quick jig at the containers.

Any tips or techniques for the troll, I was going to drag a homemade flasher and run a 6m red head diver, a bellyflap rigged skirt, and some smaller skirts on the lighter gear.

Over the last couple of months Ive been catching heaps of undersize Mulloway..........probably about 5 undersize to every size.

Does anyone know roughly how long does it takes for a 30-40cm mulloway toreach 50cm?

Heading to Rotto for a few days this week and hoping to wet a line and get stuck into some fish. Whiting, Tailor etc.

Has anyone had luck recently? Staying around Longreach and don't want to be walking or riding too far so if anyone knows any good spots to have a go at that would be a huge help as I struggled from Fays Bay and Ricey Beach last year. Otherwise just general areas east/west etc

Was wondering if anyone knew whether there is a size limit or what the bag limit is on boarfish ? Saw a couple the other day and they are nice to eat but too scared to take them in case i get hung! Pretty sure they arent covered by the demersal ban ? anyone know for certain cos i didnt see them mentioned on the fisheries guide at all

Im getting a TLD 25 very soon but need to know what the best line to used on it. keep in mind this reel is 100% balooning reel.

Went to garden island today at 7am, conditions were less than perfect but we knew that

headed out to the back of garden and puled a nice coral trout? fought really hard for its size. after a pic it was released

Swell was huge so we headed to the front and got spooled by something rather large on the bottom so probably a ray

got some bait for next time

I think i Saw Quindiesel Brad in his 670 Quinny and Boutime at the woodies ramp too.

How did everyone else go

We are heading to cervantees over the christmas new years period and are wanting to set a few pots for some crays.

Just chasing a bit of advice on what would be good depths at that time of year to get  a few.

We will only have a 12ft tinnie so wont be going out to far. And i am not asking for peoples spots here just a rough depth that we should start looking.We are only new to catching crays.

anyone have any info on what works for our 3 mile skippy, should be able to tackle bigger and better fish soon, but skips are good fun on light gear, what shitty winds for next week

I've had a gutful of eating Tailor lately and after losing 4 sets of gangs tonight, (it's going off around here on the beaches at sunset) my last cast produced a nice Eagle ray. I took it home and de-winged it, lightly floured and deep fried....not bloody bad, tastes a bit like Squid and/or Abalone with the same texture, I was suprised. Now I got about 4kg left to experiment with on some better recipes........first ray I've actually eaten out of the tons I've caught, might even eat another one some time

Heading out tomorrow Morning , gonna target crays with the loop (my max working depth is 8m) and then try for some sandwhiting or vice versa, any suggestions where I should head.

Here is an example of having a go despite. Evening catch NOR with a combo of Mullies and a Halco twistie. Largest Tailor went 58cms so I am wrapped for this time of year.

Me - on sunday i will be launching at Woodman's Point with a mate and my young bloke, and heading out around Garden Island / Carnac Island in search of some KG's, skippy and sand whiting.  Might throw a lure out the back whole we go.  if the sea breeze is in earlier than we are ready to finish I think we'll come back into the sound and give southern flats a go.
