What a bloody dilemma been booked into our annual Exxie trip starting on the 5th of May to the 27th and now it's too late to cancel as I'll lose 3 weeks of fully paid rent being under 60 days, could have got it back if over 60 days. Ol' mate Trump knows how to give me the "tom tits" for sure but hopefully the fuel prices don't go much further north, question is there other Fishwhreckers in the same leaky boat and up there around the same time? Turn 79 ANZAC DAY so was thinking and I'd get another 12 months of demersal fishing in and along comes Jacquie Jarvis and now the Orange Idiot to upset the apple cart. Think setting up a Go Fund Me for a fishing trip would go down like a turd in the punch bowl on Christmas Day and as successful as my Lotto tickets, rant over.

 Does anyone have any tips for fishing busselton jetty? im gonna target squid, salmon, herring, skippy and maybe salmon if they r there. Any tips will be apperciated.

Looking to back back into a bit of beach fishing, but am in need of a new rod. Will mainly be for chasing fish like salmon, tailor, maybe lobbing a bait out for the odd try at a mulloway. Was thinking of pairing it with either a Seragosa 10000, or 6000, or a pen slammer that I have already. Any suggestions on a decent rod? Not looking for anything too fancy, probably looking to spend about $250 or so. 
also any suggestions regarding most versatile length ? 
any advice greatly appreciated!

  Have been up at Kalbaari now for 1 and a haf months feb march but the fishing has been slow . Have only caught 2 taylor 1 shark and plenty of bust offs with larger stuff .

  Fished red bluff beach well after dark . Tried Murchason river no luck . Seems the fish know about the ban up here .

  Any tips that might improve my rate .

 I'm  still trying to work out how they can work out how many demersal fish are taken by rec fishers.  Not everyone that goes out catches them  not all fishers target them. So do they just throw a dart at the board and say that's how much was caught this year by rec fishers. They say the science is right but how does the science work it out when they cannot hand on heart ount every fish pulled over the gunnel.

 One of the boys was joking around said I should make a fly for blue eye, so yeah I got bored today and made this. Anyone want to try it out

Has anyone fished (from small boats), along the coast from Onslow south to about the Harding River area? I know it is as tidal as buggery but parts of the coast look interesting. Any first hand knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks, John.

We have stayed there, it's a great place and it's not that far from the marina.

This will suit a couple of families and has parking for a couple of boats.

   I may get a flogging for this suggestion, but what the hell, we're not doing too well as it stands. I'm not sure it should be for all of the at risk species, or just Jewies.

   I think tag allocation for demersals, where a limited number of tags per season are allocated via a free lottery system may work. Some states in the US do this for deer hunting I gather. You could offer incentives NOT to bid for tags, such as removing boat fishing licence fees. I know a number of dinghy fisherman who aren't interested in catching jewies. That alone will give you a better idea of how many people dont target demersals.

    It's easy to police: turn up back at the ramp with an untagged baldie and you're in the shit. At the end of the year you simply complete a return stating you had 'x' unfilled tags. Tags would be simply a numbered, non reusable cable tie. Any relevant species has to have the tag in it until processing.

    Make them "not for sale" to eliminate scalpers and good for one year of gazetted fishing seasons. If I was to take my (unlicenced) brother in law out deep for demersals and he gets lucky, then that comes off any tags I have.

     There would need to be other considerations, such as the maximum number of tags an individual could posess or whether tags are issued to a boat rego or licence holder. That can be worked out. It ain't going to be perfect, and yes, you will get punters trying to get around the system, but I think it would help better manage fish stocks. 

      Anyway, feel free to get stuck into me if you think it's a prick of an idea; I'm pretty thick skinned.                           Regards, John

 Any tips for catching tailor and mulloway at bicton bths?

 Can anyone give me any tips for tailor fishing at bicton baths. i will probally use a metal slice or a mulie on a ganges hooks with light stick. Any tips appreciated:)
