Carlz, I have a Diawa Regal ZA 4000 and it is a nice reel. The reel cost ~$190 and I loaded up with mono backing and a couple hundred metres of YGK PE2 for around $20 per 100m of line.

Worth checking out

$200 is a pretty lean price for an Advantage - usually nearer to $250 - $300 aren't they? Or is my memory crap.......

Stradic is also a nice reel for bit over $200, but you get a second aluminium spool so you can go light and heavy for a bit of variety.

atm the advantages are cheap as have seen them around for under 200 in a few places for that price the reel is hard to beat . the stradics are good but i found the new ones to have extreemly sticky drags were as the advantages are nice straight out of the box.in saying that with a few mods the stradics can be smooth as to

Hey Carlz,

I wouldn't be taking any notice of this 'Brenz' character. I heard he lurks around this site waiting for females to post on fishing forums, usually asking for advice, then lures them into his filthy lair, to show off his rod collection.

Brody.

Its weird you know the Advantage is usually cheaper than the Sol overseas, but its more expensive here in some shops. Its just the sol with a different paint job and one bearing fewer isn't it?

Pay some extra and buy a new Daiwa Saltist spin

Wed, 2009-12-16 17:34

the high speed retrieve ratio and the powerful, smooth drag would be perfect for Exmouth.
