50KG Dogtooth Tuna on popper! Filmed the strike!
I had a chance to be one of the first people over to fish a new charter that's started in the Yasawa Islands, Fiji by Missing At Sea.
I've got boat loads of footage and photos from the trip as you'd expect but this here takes the cake.
This is without a doubt the most epic thing I've seen and been a part of in fishing. We had joked leading up to the trip that if you got a 50kg Dogtooth on topwater you'd sell all your gear and give up fishing as there would be nothing left to achieve beyond that (for topwater diehards like us)
Thank god I had my GoPro on for that moment and am looking the right direction (for me if you don't capture the strike then the footage is useless.) There is very few clips of Dogtooth hitting surface lures on the net so I'm stoked I have a decent angle.
Hopefully I've managed to capture the excitment and emotion that runs hot when someone catches their fish of a lifetime, I think I've done alright on this one and am absolutely stoked with how it turned out.

Thanks everyone, hopefully one day I can get one on the end of my line.
The charter package is absolutely unreal, right up my alley. I hadn't met the guys I was fishing with till I arrived but we all meshed really well and had a ball.
We were the second group to head out to the islands and we got some amazing fish (there's plenty of photos on my Instagram or Missing At Seas) but we honestly barely scratched the surface. Massive reef systems we saw on the seaplane back that are just begging to be fished. Really looking forward to seeing the fish future groups pull.
We knew doggies were in the area, off the other side of the reef we were jigging them just off the edge in 100m so when the tide pushed in we tried to find the most defined pressure edge on the other side to throw poppers over the edge, so not specifically targetting them but were all using our big gear and ready for anything.
