6lb braid to heavy for finesse work on bream/whiting??
Submitted by jengle88 on Sun, 2013-12-22 11:00
wanting to put 6lb braid on my new td sol 2004 reel so could target the slightly bigger stuff, flathead ect... But was hoping it would still be light enough for finesse work on bream whiting???
Cheers

Be ok for whiting...
...you may lose a tiny bit of casting distance which will cost you a fish now and then (covering less territory) but I've found that the bulk of the strikes come closer in anyway. Don't sols come with two spools?

get some sufix matrix pro,
get some sufix matrix pro, the 8lb is about as thin or thinner than most other 4lb braids

4lb or 6lb will be plenty for
4lb or 6lb will be plenty for what you want. Remember that most braids break well above the stated strain so that 6lb string will probably break alot closer to 10lb.
Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.
