6mtr Boat Reno and 3kw install
Hey guys just though I'd share my 6m boat Reno as I no how hard it is to get info on this sort of thing. It all started with wanting to have more fuel and a better sounder. I spoke to a few boatbuilder/fibreglass that told it would be impossible to fit a 2/3 kW airmar transducer into my hull. but a big thanks to Greg at GT fibreglass for giving it a crack and giving me everything I needed. Started by removing to old fuel tank which was 140lts and convting that into an insulated ice box and transducer hole. Then he chopped up the floor to the old kill tank as it was never insulated so good for nothing and installed a 260ltr fuel tank in that compartment. Next were the side pockets which only ever collected empty stubies and old rigs. So I purched some horizontal rod holders and Greg glassed in the top so no screws or bolt holes. Also didn't want carpet on the floor as its to hard to keep clean on big trips so greg flowcoated the floor for me. Then the big job of getting the 295 and hds12 to fit on the dash and what a tight fit that is. Took out for a run yesterday in not so nice conditions and the boat punched into that northeaster much nicer with more weight forward and the sounder is mint can't wait to get out wide. Still a bit more to go in for storage and seat ideas but will keep updating as things happen cheers for reading

Nice work! Has always
Nice work! Has always intrigued me why kill tanks aren't insulated in most boats.
What boat is it?
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Wicked combo there mate! Lowrance plotters are so easy to use and can't beat Furuno for finding fish! I've only heard great reports about Greg from GT too.
Happy days!

Who dares wins
Great looking bit of gear there, good to see the "I can do this" attitude is still alive and well, although a bit of a rare commodity these days in a lot of young ones.

Great setup now Matty. You will be itching to try the 295 out in the deep water. You will be amazed!
That tranny placement looks sensational, right in the centre of the hull. I will be keen to see some more sounder porn.
