Don't be leave all you read,no shack sleep on the boats, plenty off small bays and islands to find calm water.15knot easterly winds during the day .sleep at night so it can blow all it wants.

If your waiting for 5knot
If your waiting for 5knot winds to go I would stick to fishing metro as you will never get to the islands. No wind under the water.

let me know if you want a pickup from the yard guys, I'll likely launch in the morning and go later than you guys.
Unless the breeze drops off lots then could be a friday arvo or night run over but I doubt it.
Might drop a couple off pots on the way out and pick up coming back also.

I'm good to go
Hi Paul
Just gotta pack the boat tomorrow arvo and I'll be on the road by 2pm Friday.
Armed to the teeth with all the goodies....2nd underfloor fuel tank, twin batteries, Engel, new Xtreme esky, Freedivers 1100 rail gun, camp stretcher......and a brand new kayak that my daughter and (soon to be) son-in-law bought me (bless them) so those shallow water reef 'lurkers' won't be safe!!!
See you guys Friday....can't wait!

its pretty windy up here and the weather reports are somewhat at odds.
Willyweather for Gero is pretty good but BOM not too good at all.
Having said that the seabreeze didnt come in til about 3 but its a good 30 knots now.
I probably wouldnt drive 400ks either but for us, I'll watch it and maybe still go on sunday/monday.

70kms Or 40mile should take 1 1/2hours at 25knots not a bad trip for only two fish. or is it 2 demersal & 2 palegics? what can you take from there??

We didn't go as weather
We didn't go as weather looked a little dodge .These were Perth metro macs ,We don't go to the abrolhos for the fish .it's just a great place with plenty of different options that Perth docent have.if your heading to the islands get a fisheries booklet and be sure your up on your rules and regs .two demersals and two palegics is correct .with a boat limit of two dhufish.per trip.

certainly not about the fish
certainly not about the fish for me though I like bringin them home.
Just great for the kids, greater for the dad!
We spend alot of time just plodding round the reefs, picking through the middle, dropping into the historical sites and find a lump of coral in the middle of the sand for the kids to snorkel on.

Jeez George, we came over
Jeez George, we came over today and it is howling at the moment, solid 30. Last 5 miles was crap.
Having skippered charter boats etc for quite a few years, i know that it takes more fortitude to can a trip that only you know is shit rather than go and everyone wish you hadnt.
We are only here to catch up with a mate and hopefully the morning will be ok tomorrow.
incidentally there are 3 boats at the bity holes, tryed to get down there to say hello but couldnt sneak over the last bit of reef. Too shitty to go round outside.
if you guys are on FW im on VHF16/72, Batavia 108.
